Review of the Holmes HT38R Tower Fan

4/9/2015

At first glance, the Holmes HT38R oscillating tower fan looks like the Honeywell HY-048BP. But upon close inspection, these fans have different features to offer. In this review, we help you decide whether the Holmes HT38R is worth your money.

Key Features of the HT38R

Picture
The Holmes HT38R oscillating pedestal tower fan boasts a slim profile advertised as the "ideal solution for small spaces." It is 35 inches tall, the base is 11 inches in diameter, and it weighs 8.7 pounds.

Aside from the fact that it's space saving, this tower fan uses up to 60% less energy, according to its manufacturers.

Oscillation is possible, so expect a wide cooling coverage area. According to consumer responses, oscillation is "not completely 180 degrees."

You can choose from different settings to suit your needs. Adjustment can be done through this fan's control panel or the remote control. You can adjust the speed and set the auto shut off timer.

To easily view the fan settings, the control panel is equipped with and LED light display.

Consumer Feedback

The Holmes HT38R oscillating tower fan is one of Amazon's best-selling tower fans. As of this writing, it has been rated by more than 440 consumers. Here, we've summarized buyer feedback, highlighting this product's good and bad points.

- Assembly. You might find this product not that easy to put together, especially if you're not mechanically inclined. You'll need a screwdriver to put things together.

- Beeping Sound. If you're easily annoyed with beeping sounds, this product isn't for you. The beeps can be heard when you press a button or change settings.

- Noise. You'll definitely get some white noise but overall, this unit is a quiet fan. After a few months of usage, you'll eventually get a whirring sound, which can be annoying.

- Features. The timer settings are straightforward. Choose from either 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours. There are also two modes to choose from - "breeze" and "sleep." You may or may not need these.
